A picture that accompanied a new poll said it all: four young millennials sitting on a couch not talking or socializing with one another, but each texting or posting on their cell phones.

As for the new poll by the Wall Street Journal/NBC News, millennials view of religion, patriotism, family, and traditional American values are all declining.

Twenty years ago the most important values of the majority of the nation were hard work, patriotism, commitment to religion, and the having children.  

While working hard is still number one, the importance of patriotism fell 9%, religion dropped 12%, having children tanked a whopping 16%.  

So while many have become addicted to cell phones and video games, our sense of community, faith and family are eroding away from the American landscape.
