"For after seven more days, I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights…” That’s God speaking in Genesis 7:4.
For southwest Texans, they received a two-day warning of the revised Cat 4 forecast of epic rains from Hurricane Harvey.
For them, the rains won’t last for forty days, but at this moment it must feel like it.
And if not for Harvey’s saturated media coverage, the nation would know about our local, record setting 7 – 12 inches of rain in Manatee and Sarasota counties; with sixty-three homes flooded, twenty-six people evacuated.
It’s not the time for armchair quarterbacking about Texas evacuation decisions. That debate comes later.
It is time for Americans to give what they can towards disaster relief.
Prayer and emergency assistance are two vital essentials for many who’ll likely be displaced for months or even years.
