“Labor Day Weekend”

Bill Bunkley’s “This Is Something to Think About Commentary”

Air Date Saturday, August 30 to Monday, September 1, 2025

It’s that time of the year to celebrate Labor Day once again.

It’s one of the oldest rites of passage as we salute the heartbeat of our nation, the American worker.

This weekend also marks the official end of summer.

What’s so special about Labor Day?

It recognizes our early agricultural workers who grew and exported cotton and tobacco, those who worked on Henry Ford’s revolutionary assembly line, and the fuel for the Industrial Revolution. We remember the women who built World War II airplanes, jeeps, and tanks on long production lines, shaping the history of our nation.

Today, we pay tribute to those who work in the agricultural, hospitality, and service industries. Their contributions are indispensable to America’s economic strength.

We say “Thank You” to both our past and present labor workers, acknowledging their hard work and dedication.
