Setbacks are a part of any critical endeavor. It is persistence through setbacks that separates winners from losers.

Keeping a close eye on your motivational thoughts is essential. Entertaining thoughts of “quitting” too early is usually a quick way out to avoid the pain of a potential failure. Still, unbiased thinking and evaluation must overrule emotional knee-jerk decisions.

Sometimes stepping back and taking a break clears the mind. You could be one short move away from achieving success.

Thomas Edison, one of America’s top inventors who invented the first practical light bulb, said, “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” “I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward.”

Remember, persistence is the secret sauce of most successes.
