The much anticipated Federal Reserve Wednesday announcement confirmed what many were estimating; that a full recovery from COVID-19 may not arrive until early 2024.
That’s because the Fed announced it expects to hold interest rates near zero through 2023 to bolster the U. S. economy. Even if inflation exceeds 2% during this period, they will hold rates down.
That’s good news for real estate, mortgages, and businesses healthy enough to get approved for a loan.
But in reality, the news reflects the current and coming pain in the economy: high unemployment, soon to come residential and commercial real estate evictions, and mortgage foreclosures.
President Trump is the best choice to lead us out of this, but if elected, it will be the biggest project he has ever taken on.
