Events are moving at breakneck speed as Turkey wasted no time moving into northeast Syria where Kurdish mothers and children fled for their lives.
Turkish aligned Militia units have killed Kurdish civilians and politicians. Video evidence suggests the militias are executing Kurdish military combatants along roadsides leading into the disputed territory.
To survive, the Kurds have now formed an alliance with Syrian dictator Bashar-al-Assad and his ally Russia. Syria is also Iran’s puppet state.
With Russia now providing the no-fly zone the Kurds had previously requested from the US but denied, Turkey may have bitten off more than they bargained for.
Meanwhile, ISIS combatant prisoners are already escaping prison.
Who knows what the long term future looks like for the region.
