It’s not often I would even entertain the thought of more government intervention into any aspect of the private sector. Still, I am contemplating if it is time for the federal government to regulate Facebook and Twitter.

The social media platforms are power communication conduits. They have an enormous influence on what you see and what you don’t see.

Banning specific speech they disapprove of based on their political views is nothing new. But they’ve taken it to a frightening level by banning a New York Post article, a dangerous move. It reminds me of the evil censorship of totalitarian regimes.

Free speech and a free press are being censored.

The FCC monitors and oversees our radio and television waves.  

So maybe it’s time for government regulation of Facebook and Twitter.
