This week the pioneer of conservative talk in America since 1988, Rush Limbaugh, gave his audience an update on his battle with lung cancer.
The news was not good.
Recent scans indicated the Stage 4 cancer has progressed. “It’s not dramatic but in the wrong direction.”
It’s terminal.
Fifteen years ago, when I began my career in talk radio, Rush was the “gold standard” among “talkers.” I listened to Rush daily to learn how to do radio.
As I continue my winning battle against leukemia, my prayers go out to Rush in his daily fatigue and struggle to stay on the air.
I know a little about that.
Rush told his audience he is a follower of Jesus Christ and trusts Him as his Savior.
Accepting and knowing Jesus Christ personally, is the best on-air advice Rush has ever given.
Stay strong Rush.
Bill Bunkley is a 14-year veteran Salem Radio Network talk show host based in west-central Florida, airing weekdays 3 to 6 PM. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Churches throughout Florida), among other churches and entities. He has served as legislative consultant to the Convention for the last 24 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee.
