Legislative committees are in full swing in Tallahassee. Few bills get a “top priority” status by being heard so early in the committee process.

Florida House Health & Human Services Committee heard HB 256 Parental Consent for a Minor’s Abortion by Rep. Erin Grall.

The legislation’s early passage, plus the fact it has only one only committee of reference, shows strong support by House leadership. It now proceeds to the House chamber for the final passage.

I was in the committee meeting to voice my support for this bill on behalf of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission.

Underage minors cannot receive an aspirin, get their ears pierced, or receive other medical treatment without parental or guardian consent.

Parental Consent for Abortion should be no different.
