With all the noise that surrounded the Presidential election, many are having a real gut check today.

Gone are the days where we can live in ignorant bliss, ignore what’s going around us, and bury our heads in the sand believing all is well in the land.

We may be living in a paradigm that future historians may one day refer to as the grand social experiment of America that didn’t last.

I believe apathy and widespread self-centeredness related to living out our Judeo-Christian values have contributed to our current American chaos.

The gut check question is, “Are we going to continue to do what we’ve been doing to influence the culture and expect different results?

Or will we get out of our comfort zones and influence this radical culture with the values that made us great. 

Bill Bunkley is a 14-year veteran Salem Radio Network talk show host based in west-central Florida, airing weekdays 3 to 6 PM. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Churches throughout Florida), among other churches and entities. He has served as legislative consultant to the Convention for the last 24 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee.
