Tax Reform forced “K” Street lobbyists in Washington to have one of their busiest work weekends in recent memory.
The House rolled out their first draft of the Republican tax reform package. The Senate will follow with a similar, but not an identical footprint. The GOP has to deliver the “beef” by year’s end if they want to stay in office.
But don’t expect the simple “postcard” tax return, which gets paraded out every election, to be part of the reform. That isn’t happening.
Depending on what’s in and out of the reform package there’ll be a brand new set of winners and losers when President Trump signs the bill. Millions are flowing into the “K” Street lobbyist’s bank accounts to push their client’s interest.
That’s why we the people won’t be the main priority as the beef is going through the grinder.
