With talk of national gun control and registration from the country’s left, one Florida County is having none of it.
The county’s position reminds me back to the moment Charlton Heston stood before the NRA faithful, rifle held high, and declared his infamous promise “I’ll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.”
So which Florida country is standing with Charlton Heston?
Lake County, located in the center of Florida’s peninsula, by way of a unanimous vote of its county commissioners, declared Lake county a “Second Amendment Sanctuary.”
Josh Blake, County Commissioner, who wrote the resolution, says it is a line in the sand and “sends a message to what can be described as the authoritarian control freaks.”
I expect other Florida counties to follow.
