Today is Thanksgiving.
It is a day here in America set apart to express gratitude for our many blessings.
Our life today is certainly different than that first colonial Thanksgiving celebration.
Most of us haven’t worked our fields for weeks on end nor worried about weather threatening our crops. We’ve not just finished hauling in the annual harvest.
That era was a tough one. Gratefulness for the basic provisions of life blanketed America, so much more so than what we see today.
Let’s not forget our rich heritage. Let’s not foolishly think that we travel through this life on an island of our own making.
Take heed of the many blessings you have to be thankful for today. Make this a very special day of thanks and practice the forgotten art of gratefulness.
