Just as we celebrated a significant milestone of getting life back to normal post COVID on Thanksgiving Day, Friday arrived with startling news out of Africa.

The news was so startling that the Dow Jones Industrials tanked more than 1000 points for a brief period.

The new COVID omicron variant is the source of renewed fear and health concerns.

Reality is setting in that the COVID virus, with its ever-changing mutations and variants, will be something we’ll have to deal with for years to come.

So far, research doesn’t seem to indicate it to be more severe than the original COVID or Delta variant. Testing is already underway on the Omicron variant to see how existing vaccines and treatment medications will react to the new strain. New omicron vaccines are also in development.
