As the sexual harassment allegations continue to roll in, the case of Michigan Democrat Congressman John Conyers so far stands out as the most egregious shenanigan to date.
We now know that not only are there multiple sexual harassment allegations against Conyers, he secretly diverted $27,000 of taxpayer’s money allocated for his Capitol office expenses into hush money to keep one of his dalliances a secret.
Over the last two decades, 17 million dollars of “hush money” payments have been doled out by the federal government in 264 cases stemming from the actions of members of Congress.
Thankfully, Florida’s U. S Representative Ron DeSantis, among others, have filed the Congressional Accountability and Hush Fund Elimination Act.
It is time to do away with “secret” she said he did Hush Money arrangements.
Taxpayers are due full disclosure of where their tax dollars get spent.
