“It’s Time To Remove Florida’s Anti-Religion Bias”

It is time for Florida’s archaic Blaine Amendment to go and the Constitutional Revision Commission should move to place it on the 2018 ballot so voters can remove it.
So what is the Blaine Amendment?
It was part of a nationwide anti-Catholic movement to forbid state funding to religious schools and organizations that provide the same privatized services as non-religious entities.
37 states still have the prohibitive language.
If a school provides vital services such as teaching our children, or an organization is feeding the homeless, providing foster care or placing children for adoption, they should not be denied state funding available to any other private school or agency just because they happen to be religious in nature.
Believe me; the state needs all the help it can get in providing quality social services from these dedicated resources.
It’s time to remove Florida’s anti-religion bias.
