“SCOTUS on Free Speech: Where Do You Draw the Line”

Bill Bunkley with Something to Think About

On Monday, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on what may be the court’s most important case of the new term.

The case in question dealt with Colorado website designer 303 Creative, owned by Lorie Smith. For six years, she has been waiting for a definitive legal answer if a Colorado Accommodations Law forces her to design same-sex marriage websites in violation of her closely held Christian doctrinal beliefs. She has lost in every court leading to the Supreme Court Review.

President, CEO, and General Counsel of Alliance Defending Freedom Kristen Waggner expertly presented a strong argument supporting Lorie Smith’s 1st Amendment Religious Freedom rights.

The hearing was scheduled for 70 minutes but lasted 2 ½ hours.

The conservative majority on the court appeared to side with Lori Smith’s Religious Liberty rights.
