It is the most significant case to come before the U. S. Supreme Court since the ratification of the 1st amendment in 1791.
It’s not a case about a wedding cake. It is about Religious Freedom, Religious Liberty.
Kristen Waggoner with Alliance Defending Freedom represented Masterpiece Cakeshop owner Jack Phillips before the high court against the Colorado Civil Rights Commission.
Jack refused to create a wedding cake for a same-sex couple because doing so would violate his Christian beliefs.
Colorado in turn heavily fined and sanctioned his business. Jack has taken this watershed case all the way to the Supreme Court.
This country has acknowledged conscientious objectors to the Vietnam War and doctors and nurses who will not perform abortion procedures. But for Christians, some think they don’t qualify.
Justice Kennedy and a majority of justices must uphold our sacred right to Religious Freedom.
