Bill Bunkley with Something to Think About
One of the highlights of my pilgrimage tours to Israel and Jordan is visiting Ethan Oren of Kibbutz Malkiya, a settlement directly on Israel’s border with Lebanon. It is a tourist and agricultural community of Jews who, before the October Hezbollah terrorist attacks, produced crops of grapes, kiwi, and wine.
It is primarily a ghost town today, as many buildings took direct hits from Hezbollah, and fires from falling projectiles scorched the fields. Since most residents fled months ago, a skeleton force of the kibbutz farmers has been there to care for the crops.
Kibbutz Malikiya will be back someday, but not today.
Residents are not returning to the Kibbutz during the ceasefire, instead waiting until Israel’s IDF is allowed to finish its mission to destroy the Hezbollah terrorist organization.
My question to you is, can you blame them?
