“Remember Christian Martyrs and the Persecuted Church”

For many, Christmas 2022 was a time of celebration, gifts, family, friends, and feasting. For others, it was a dangerously cold, financially lean, travel delayed, travels canceled experience.

But for others around the globe, it was a time of Christian persecution and martyrdom.

In the Middle East, West Africa, and South and East Asia, record numbers of Christians are persecuted and die for Christ. The numbers far outweigh what the early Romans and Persians did to the faithful.

Take Bethlehem since the early ’80s and my first visit to Jesus’ birthplace. Christians made up 80% of the city’s residents. Now it is only 20%.

Open Doors USA reports 16 Christians are murdered every day for following Jesus.

During these days of end-of-the-year reflections, don’t forget to pray for all Christians in harm’s way.
