Tomorrow is the first day of the 60-day annual session of the Florida Legislature.  But don’t let that 60-day number deceive you; it may just mark the real starting point of the big issues to be hammered out.  

Here’s why.    

To the casual observer, it would be a huge mistake to conclude that just because the Republicans hold majorities in the Florida House and Florida Senate, as well as the Governor’s office, that they all are “unified” in purpose as their Republican counterparts are projecting in Washington. 

Truth is, Florida’s more conservative House and moderate Senate are seldom unified. Plus, House Speaker Richard Corcoran and Governor Scott have been going at it quite vocally over several big time issues.

And you know what that means?

I think it means they all may well have a long, hot summer to look forward to.
