Once again, the Oakland Athletics and the Rays have battled to the end for a chance to move forward in the MLB playoffs.
Tonight’s battle at the Oakland Coliseum is a Wild Card playoff, a one and done game to earn the right to move on to the American League playoffs.
Even though the Rays may be one of the most unappreciated teams as far as ticket sales go, they have represented us well, both the players and arguably the most creative and imaginative coach in the majors: native Tampa resident Kevin Cash.
Low box office revenues, sparse crowds, salary limitations, unresolved stadium issues, the prospect of split home games stands with Montreal, have all been major distractions.
But through it all, they pushed through to the playoffs.
Go Rays, play hard, keep beating the odds.
