The number of mass casualty events is increasing across America. Saturday night, Tampa’s Ybor City became the scene of the latest statistic.
Two young males, ages 14 and 22, were killed. Another 17 were wounded.
As nightclub revelers were pouring onto 7th Avenue, many in Halloween costumes, frantically took cover in doorways and alleys as multiple gunshots rang out.
All this was the result of an argument between two groups.
This lack of regard for human life can materialize at any moment, at any place. On any given day, whether driving in traffic or witnessing inappropriate aggressive behavior at just about any public place, too many people are aggressive, self-centered, and on edge.
Parents, know where your kids are hanging out.
There’s no reason a 14-year-old should be on the streets of Ybor City at 3:00 AM.
