President Harry Truman was famously known for a saying that greeted visitors to his office that read “The Buck Stops Here.”
Now I’m sure our United States Senate and House members are not excited about embracing that principle when they come to work today.
That’s because “The Buck Stops Today” with the Congress as they take up the question of validating the Electoral College count from each state.
Certain individual state counts will be objected to by members in both chambers. That will stop cold, a process that is usually a quick formality.
It’s a political landmine for some members should they be required to go on the board with their vote. For President Trump, it is viewed as quite the long shot.
The reality is the final vote will fiercely anger one side or the other.
