Today is opening day for the 2018 Session of the Florida Legislature.

I’ll be broadcasting live again from Tallahassee during the next 60 days and will keep you informed of how your life may be changed shortly as many new laws are to be enacted by both the legislature and Governor Scott.

It will be a different environment in Tallahassee as two Florida Senate seats will remain vacant during the session because of sexual misconduct and harassment charges, reminding everyone here at the capitol of the tension that remains over the possibility of even more revelations.

How male legislators greet and conduct conversations with female colleagues, lobbyist, and visitors will be a new dynamic as all parties are expected to be careful moving forward.

Meanwhile, the business of Florida must go on including setting next year’s budget.
