Tensions are at a fever pitch at many state capitals across America, but the intensity of uncertainty in our nation’s Capitol is unsurpassed. Scenes of the massive military build-up in DC have not been witnessed since the Civil War.
There are more military soldiers assembled in Washington than the numbers of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan combined!
Not since the Civil War have soldiers slept in large numbers on the Capitol floor. The National Mall is effectively shut down for next week’s presidential inauguration.
With all Democrats and 10 Republicans in the U. S. House rushing to impeach before the inauguration, they too may be labeled in their ill-advised timing as inciting riots by the end of next week.
Sadly, wisdom has been replaced by unbridled emotions.
Bill Bunkley is a 15-year veteran Salem Radio talk show host based in west-central Florida, airing weekdays 3 to 6 PM. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Churches throughout Florida), among other churches and entities. He has served as legislative consultant to the Convention for the last 24 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee.
