A lone Tallahassee judge will decide what was the intent of the Florida Legislature and the state’s voters when it comes to Medical Marijuana. 

Two lawsuits are in play. And Leon County Circuit Court Judge Karen Gievers will rule on both.  

First, John Morgan wants the state’s ban on smoking marijuana for medicinal purposes tossed out.

In a second lawsuit Tampa’s notorious strip club owner, Joe Redner, wants to grow marijuana plants in his backyard for medicinal purposes. And Judge Gievers ruled that under Florida law as she sees it Joe may be allowed to do just that.

Florida’s legislature limited medical marijuana usage to oil extracts of the plant. And I don’t believe voters thought they were approving backyard marijuana vineyards.

But as usual, the courts will inform us as to what our wishes were.
