In the Florida House, the "Compassion and Clarity Bill," HB 1639, was heard this week in the Select Committee on Health Innovation, dealing with transgendered issues.
If passed as presently written, it would require those identifying as transgendered persons to list their birth sex on their driver's license.
In addition, healthcare providers and insurance companies would be required to provide detransition protocols treating a person's perception that their sex is inconclusive with their sex at birth.
CBS News Miami reports the bill sponsor, State Representative and Pastor Doug Bankson from Apopka, Fl., said it was created to make sure those suffering from gender dysphoria have an equal path to wholeness through treatment and insurance coverage and bring clarity for state documents.
I support the Pastor’s legislation.
