Many Americans were taken aback by the actions of most Democrat members of Congress during the State of the Union.
Look, there is bitter, partisan dislike on the left for this President. There was bitter, partisan dislike by those on the right during President Obama’s term.
I get it, a divided nation.
But I’m predisposed to be a patriotic guy. The parade of real-life American heroes interwoven into the President’s message was all inspiring.
With that backdrop I watched in disbelief as Democrats remained seated even when President Trump announced record-breaking, truly historic unemployment for both African Americans and Hispanics.
Partisanship aside, refusing to stand and acknowledge a significant step that clearly benefits the folks they talk about championing every day was quite revealing indeed.
For Congressional Democrats, it was not a “For the People” moment.
