The Florida legislature is back in Tallahassee this week hearing reports and proposed bills for the upcoming session.
One issue in the immediate crosshairs of legislators is the Florida Constitutional Revision Commission.
The commission botched up the 2018 election ballot with proposed revisions of unrelated subjects, in single amendments.
Today Orange Park’s Senator Bob Bradley is proposing in the Ethics and Elections Committee Senate Joint Resolution 74 restricting the commission to a single subject per proposed amendment number. Yesterday, St. Pete’s Senator Jeff Brandes offered Senate Joint Resolution 362 in the Senate Judiciary Committee, which completely abolishes the commission.
Keep an eye on the ongoing fireworks, the commission is going to be reeled one way or another.
