For decades Florida has been a dream come true as a haven for the nation’s seniors. Many are on fixed low-income budgets, relying on Social Security as their sole source of income.

They are the forgotten face of those now most affected by skyrocketing inflation rates and supply chain issues.

This past weekend gasoline prices jumped to an average of $3.45 a gallon. Significant increases in food and heating costs are adding to budget-busting times. And low-income rental units have been increasing in price for months, even before the covid pandemic.

Soon seniors may have to decide whether to buy food or their medications, which will be a real tragedy.

Thanks, President Biden, for shutting down our fossil fuel independence and reckless stimulus spending that is now devastating our seniors.

They deserve better.
