The executive order from President Trump concerning religious freedom just may be on the way. But it’s not the White House that is sending that signal.
A Huffington Post headline pronounced that according to a “Trump Transition Official: Religious Freedom order is still coming. It would protect those who oppose LGBT rights, abortion and more.”
That official, former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, now serving as a Senior Fellow at the Family Research Council, told the Post in an interview conducted at the CPAC convention the order is “far from dead.”
According to Blackwell, the Trump administration is taking its time to get the order right. The first draft may have been scrapped because it was believed to be too vulnerable to a legal challenge.
I hope Blackwell is right and that they do indeed get it right.
