“Florida May Limit Abortions to 6 Weeks”

Tuesday’s State of the State address by Florida Governor DeSantis dominated the nationwide headline news cycle. But another important headline for Floridians hit the wires as well.

The Florida legislature is considering a bill to limit abortions to six weeks, lower than the 15-week threshold established just last year.

Senate Bill 300 by Senator Grall and House Bill 7 by Representative Persons-Mulicka grants exceptions to the six-week abortion limitation for cases of rape or incest.

Under the bill, ONLY a physician could induce the termination of a pregnancy, not a pharmacist. Abortion termination pills would have to be dispensed, in person, ONLY by the physician. No abortion pills could be dispersed and delivered through the U. S. Postal or any other delivery service.

This represents a significant change to current law.
