What has been an ongoing area of concern for oil interests for decades is now a choke point in the war with Iran.
It is the narrow Strait of Hormuz, two miles wide, located in southwest Iran. From there, all manners of hostile action can be taken against shipping that has to navigate the strait.
In the last few hours, Irian's small boats, mini-submarines, and drones have been attacking these ships with mines and small projectiles. Oil shipping interruptions are a critical choke point for the world’s economy.
Some are speculating that boots on the ground may be necessary, such as members of our U.S. Special Operations Command, to completely neutralize the threat along the coast, including all the small fishing villages.
