"Update: Controversy Over In God We Trust”

In an update from last year’s Florida legislative session, public schools were mandated by two separate bills to post the State of Florida Seal and to post the words “In God We Trust” in each public school.
But a few misinformed teachers in Palm Beach County complained that posting “In God We Trust” at a public school was a violation of church and state.
It is not.
One would think teachers entrusted with teaching our children the truth, and not convenient opinions based on a teacher’s personal worldview, would be a school policy.
To get around displaying a sign saying “In God We Trust,” Palm Beach, in complying with the other law requiring the posting of the state seal, will only post the state seal.
Why?
Because our state seal contains the words “In God We Trust.”
