“Gambling $3 Billion is the Real March Madness”
The infamous March Madness, which culminated in April, is becoming more than just the premier NCAA College Basketball Championship
Game. There was a time when the entertainment factor was the real draw, which was watching a host of young, extremely talented
basketball handlers shoot the hoops of their lifetime.
But in 2022, things are different.
Oddsmaker’s predictions overshadow the play of the young athletes.
This year’s tournament wagering was the biggest ever.
According to Axios Sports, $3 billion-plus was bet by 45 million sports gamblers.
I oppose state lotteries, casinos, and big money sports betting.
Why? Because 10 million people have a gambling addiction. Families are destroyed by it.
Intelligent money management has many reasonable allocations.
Gambling it away is not one of them.
