Christian Holy week continues around the world. You are probably familiar with Passover, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter.
But did you know that today is Maundy Thursday?
Maundy Thursday occurs on the Thursday preceding Easter. It commemorates the washing of the disciple’s feet by the Lord Jesus and the last supper Jesus would take with his beloved disciples, celebrating the Jewish Passover.
The word Maundy comes from a Latin word for command, in remembrance of Jesus’ command to His disciples that night to love one another.
Christians regularly commemorate that last supper throughout the year with a communion service called the Lord’s Supper.
Why not add Maundy Thursday re-embraces to your traditions, as it reminds us of the call to Christian humility and service.
