This past Sunday marked the beginning of Holy Week as Christians remembered the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into the old city of Jerusalem.

Also, on Sunday, a Christian who is the top golfer in the world made his way to a triumphal entry into the coveted Green Jacket Club at the Master’s Tournament in Augusta.

25-year-old Scottie Scheffler shot amazing rounds all four days, earning his first PGA Tour win. He got his first PGA win in February.

The best part is Scheffler told reporters as a Christian that he plays golf to try to glorify God and all He has done in his life and that his identity isn’t a golf score. 

Supported by his praying wife and family, the Lord at His side, he is quite the humble young man.      

Will he be the next Tiger Woods?

Only God knows; I know I’ll be pulling for him.

Bill Bunkley is a 16-year veteran Salem Radio talk show host based in west-central /Florida, airing weekdays 3 to 6 pm. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Churches throughout Florida), among other churches and entities. He has served as legislative consultant to the Convention for the last 26 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee. By the Grace of his Lord Jesus, he is a cancer survivor being diagnosed in 2018 with AML Leukemia, having successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant that same year.
