I’m Bill Bunkley with Something To Think About.
As the regular legislative session winds down to its final day on May 5th, finding the pathway for the implementation of the voter-approved Florida Medical Marijuana Constitutional Amendment is currently illusive.
And there is not just a House and Senate viewpoint on implementation, but a third view as well.
The Florida House’s legislation currently doesn’t allow smoking, vaping or eating products laced with marijuana. It also wants a minimum number of approved marijuana growers plus a 90-day patient waiting period after the first doctor visit to curtail illegal doctor shopping
The Florida Senate’s proposal only bans smoking and allows 24 dispensaries statewide.
The third camp, active cannabis supporters testifying in Tallahassee want to smoke, vape, and eat marijuana with absolutely zero restrictions, no waiting periods.
Three camps; three viewpoints. As I have stated previously, the courts will ultimately decide this one.
