The Florida Legislature has convened a special session in Tallahassee to determine the congressional redistricting boundaries.
But that’s not all they will be dealing with.
Governor DeSantis added to the legislative agenda revoking special taxing privileges for Walt Disney World. That is in retaliation for Disney’s public opposition to HB 1557, the teaching of sex education to kindergartners through grade 3 in public schools.
Disney has been allowed to be its own government through the Reddy Creek Improvement District. Currently, Disney self-governs its construction zoning, building codes, fire, water, and road services. They’ve had that privilege since 1971.
All that is about to end.
Disney inflicted significant self-damage to themselves with their worldview on children.
Now they’ll pay a price for it.
