Saturday afternoon witnessed the end of the 2019 regular session of the Florida Legislature. Friday at midnight was actually the cutoff for all non-budget related proposed legislation.
The Florida House and Senate came to terms on a $ 91.1 billion budget appropriation that is going to Governor DeSantis for his review.
The Governor will review both big picture policy proposals as well as each line item in the budget. He can elect to veto both policy proposals as well any budget line item.
When asked this past weekend Governor DeSantis indicated that his staff had looked only at a portion of the budget so far, put predicted that when finished with their review the budget would be under $91 billion.
Overall DeSantis is pleased of the backing he has received this session by republican leaders.
