“Governor DeSantis Completes Historic Legislative Session”

 Governor DeSantis came away from the 2023 Legislative Session with historic accomplishments.

Among the Governor’s passed legislation: A Six-week abortion ban, public school vouchers for all to attend private and Christian schools, expansion of Florida Kidcare eligibility, removing a unanimous jury provision for death sentences, the death penalty for certain child sexual offenders, illegal alien/immigration crackdown, the banning of underage sex reassignment and hormone treatments, prohibiting certain titles and pronoun usage at public schools, prohibition of children in adult performances including Drag Queen shows, bathroom and changing areas usage designated by gender at birth, and opt-out protection for healthcare provider’s medical conscience of closely held beliefs.  

Congratulations to Governor DeSantis.

Bill Bunkley is a 17-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs weekdays across central Florida from 3 to 6 pm. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Convention Churches), among other churches and entities. He has served as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention for the last 27 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee. By the Grace of his Lord Jesus, he is today a cancer survivor diagnosed in 2018 with AML Leukemia, having successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant that same year. His wife is Toni, son is Zac, and they attend Idlewild Baptist Church.
