 "A Two-State Solution in Context"

I’m Bill Bunkley with Something To Think About.

Having traveled to Israel on multiple occasions, I assure you that until one has undertaken that personal experience and visited the locations important to the three monotheistic faiths, one cannot fully grasp and understand the interrelated complexities of the coexistence of those faiths.

You cannot truly appreciate the tiny Rhode Island-sized Israel until you see it for yourself. Couple that understanding with the true history of the 1948 return of the Jews to their ancestral homeland after thousands of years of exile.  Only then can you fully appreciate Arab opposition to their return and the aggression from Palestinian Arabs against Israel that dates back to the fall of the Ottoman Empire. Then and only then does one have a context regarding any two-state solution. 

For that reason, I am pleased the President has experienced Israel in person before advancing peace proposals.
