“Florida Legislature Annual Budget Work Postponed AGAIN”

For those who thought the Legislature would return to Tallahassee to work out the budget after Memorial Day as advertised, think again.
The return is pushed back once again to June 2nd, for now.
Remember, the only requirement for the Florida legislature to accomplish each year, as mandated by the Florida Constitution, is to enact a balanced annual fiscal budget by July 1st of each year.
Note that a 72-hour review pause is required once the two chambers agree on a budget, so the daily countdown clock is rapidly approaching zero.
The news of another week's delay suggests to me that the Republican leadership of the House and the Senate have not yet reached an agreement on the basic budget allocations, so that members of each chamber can gather in Tallahassee to finalize the line-item details.
Failure is not an option for the Republican leadership.
