The 2017 Atlantic hurricane season has arrived. Are you prepared? 

The answer is probably a “no.”

But I have good news. The State of Florida has a great incentive for you to get prepared this weekend.

You can stock up tax-free on emergency supplies such as generators, coolers, radios, flashlights, batteries and much more from midnight Friday until 11:59 P.M. Sunday evening. Your favorite retailer will have all those qualifying items prominently displayed at the front of their stores.

And with a more active than usual hurricane season predicted, don’t act like a rookie Floridian. Rookies don’t plan and prepare. Veteran Floridians know to stock up, get prepared early. 

Forecasters indicate a 70% chance of 11-17 named storms, 5-9 hurricanes of which 2-4 could grow to become a category 3 or above.   

Get prepared; you have been forewarned by a veteran Floridian.
