Tampa has earned many distinctions since the founding of its frontier outpost on the Hillsborough River, Ft. Brook, back in 1824.
As the country evolved so did Tampa Bay and Central Florida.
Along came the mass production of Henry Ford’s affordable, assembly line automobile, and with it Americans began to drive and camp across the country.
Passenger aviation eventually followed the Wright Brothers new invention and the world is now at our fingertips.
Vacations would never be the same, but sometimes you just want to stay around home. Thus the staycation was born.
And according to the website WalletHub, Tampa ranked 9th overall for staycations out of 180 cities evaluated.
As the world comes to Central Florida for vacations, no wonder we have so many quality staycations surrounding us.
