Violent anarchists are rejecting a pillar of American society and stability, “The Rule of Law.”
What is the Rule of Law?
It dated to the 4th century BC when Greek philosopher Aristotle distinguished the concept apart from that of any one individual. Fast forward to the 18th century to French political philosopher Montesquieu who took it to a new level of understanding and acceptance that greatly influenced Western thought to today.
A civilized society agrees to live under the Rule of Law set forth by governmental legislative bodies. No one is above the Rule of Law, no one.
Without a mutually accepted Rule of Law, a civilization devolves into chaos, as seen today.
Upholding conformance to the Rule of Law is essential for a free society.
And America must always uphold it.
Bill Bunkley is a 14-year veteran Salem Radio Network talk show host based in west-central Florida, airing weekdays 3 to 6 PM. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Churches throughout Florida), among other churches and entities. He has served as legislative consultant to the Convention for the last 24 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee.
