For all the naysayers out there, who are not taking the COVID-19 threat seriously, I ask you to look at what’s happening around the nation and right here in our backyard.

No doubt, some of you have been skeptics ever since the wildly wrong projections led to the country to the shutdown.

I get it.

But we are beginning to get a sense of how contagious COVID-19 can be when social distancing restrictions are not respected.

Both Florida and Texas in the last few weeks are witnessing significant spikes in positive cases after beginning their phased re-openings.

People are out and not practicing social distancing. Many are not courteous of others by wearing masks.

If we as a society do not take COVID-19 seriously, we are destined to pay an even higher price than we have already.
