After eight years plus of campaign rhetoric aimed at eliminating the death-spiraling Obamacare, Senate Republicans failed to take the first baby steps on the road of repeal and replace.

A self-imposed deadline to pass the first step, budget reconciliation package before the 4^th of July Congressional break by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell never got to first base. That routine vote to move the bill forward for consideration surprisingly failed to gather enough necessary Republican votes.

Meanwhile, Obamacare has imploded with many markets around the country down to one healthcare choice, while others have no choices at all as insurance companies have bailed out of those areas.

Premiums and deductibles have both skyrocketed.

If Senate Republicans can’t  get their act together after the July 4^th break with a viable, open market alternative, the GOP base may well turn on their members of Congress.
