Conservatives and liberals want to know: who is Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts?

For conservatives, is he another Justice David Souter, selected as a conservative who voted during his tenure with liberals on the court?  

The Chief Justice is concerned about maintaining what he calls the credibility and legitimacy of the Court. After the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy, a swing vote on the court, many observers see Roberts as assuming Kennedy’s moderately positioned role on the court.

In his most infamous case Roberts sided with the liberals on Obamacare through controversial legal reasoning. Now he’s sided with the liberals again in blocking President’s Trump’s desire to ask a citizenship question on the census.

Conservatives, you have reasons to be concerned.
